# Get to know Locker on Linux

> Learn how to install, manage data, and secure your password vault on the Locker desktop app for Linux.

## Add, edit, and delete items

After logging in, you will be taken to the **Vault** screen, where you can centrally manage passwords, notes, cards, and identities.

    Click `Add New`, select the item type you want to add, enter the details, and click `Add`.

  <Step title="Edit an item">
    Hover over the item you want to edit, click the <code>{'\u22EF'}</code> menu, and select `Edit`. After updating the information, click `Save`.

    Hover over the item you want to delete, click the <code>{'\u22EF'}</code> menu, and select `Delete`.

    *You can also delete an item by selecting `Edit` and clicking the **Trash** icon.*

## Security and authentication

* **Set up 2FA:** Add an extra layer of protection to your account. [See the 2FA setup guide](/en/locker-general/security-for-locker-account/2fa-for-locker-account).
* **Master Password:** The only key to decrypt your vault data. [Learn more about Master Password](/en/locker-general/login-unlock/what-is-master-password).

## Lock and unlock

To keep your data safe when not in use:

    Click the triangle button next to your username and select `Lock Account`.
