Password history of an item

When you change the password of a password item (such as an online account) that are stored in Locker, Locker automatically saves the old passwords of that item. By maintaining these old passwords, you can gain valuable insights into your password practice.

💡
Note: The password history of an item is not shared along when that item is shared.

You can view the password history of any password item on either the Web App, Desktop App or Mobile App.

View password history on the Web App or Desktop App

  1. Log in to your account on the Locker Web App or Desktop App.
  1. On the item list, click the 3-dot icon of the password item you want to view the password history.

  1. On the dropdown menu appearing, click the View password history option.
    1. If you haven’t changed the password of the item, this button is disabled.

  1. You will see the list of old passwords of that item as below.

  1. You can restore an old password by clicking the 3-dot icon next to the password > select Restore. That password will replace the current password of the item.

View password history on the Mobile App

  1. Log in to your account on the Locker Mobile App.
  1. On the item list, tap the password item you want to view the password history.
  1. On the menu appearing, tap the View password history button. If you haven’t changed the password of the item, this button does not appear.

  1. You will see the list of old passwords of that item as below.

  1. You can restore an old password by tapping the 3-dot icon next to the password > select Restore. That password will replace the current password of the item.
