The Professional plan of Locker Secrets Manager requires upfront monthly billing based on the project's and secrets' usage in a specific workspace.
The first billing cycle starts when you create the first paid project (you will have 01 free project), or when you first import a number of projects into your workspace (you will be charged immediately). Thereafter, billing will recur monthly, starting the following month on the same date as the first month's billing.
There are 2 types of invoices, reflecting 2 times in which you are charged for your Locker Secrets Manager usage.
If you create or import new projects, you will be charged immediately for the usage of the project(s) and secrets during that cycle. The cost will be prorated based on the number of days remaining in the current billing cycle.
When creating a new project, you will initially select the number of secrets to be stored in that project for the first billing cycle of that project. When importing a file, the number of projects and secrets currently stored in that file will be calculated for the first billing cycle.
Below are examples of creating a new project or importing projects:
Create a project:
On day 12 of a billing cycle (30-day cycle) of a workspace, the Workspace Admin purchases a new project and selects 50 secrets to be stored in that project in advance. The cost for the project in that cycle is:
($3 * 01 project) + ($0.1 * 50 secrets) / 30 * 18 (days remaining) = $4.8 (USD)
Import projects and secrets:
On day 16 of a billing cycle (30-day cycle) of a workspace, the Workspace Admin imports a file of 4 projects and 150 secrets in total. The cost for the project in that cycle is:
($3 * 04 projects) + ($0.1 * 150 secrets) / 30 * 14 (days remaining) = $12.6 (USD)
At the beginning of new billing cycle, you're charged for the current existing number of projects and secrets in each project. This can result in 2 potential scenarios:
Below are examples of the 2 scenarios:
Scenario 1:
On the first billing cycle of a workspace, the Workspace Admin initially purchases 1 project and 30 secrets. Until the end of the first cycle, he actually stores 25 secrets. On the second cycle (30-day cycle), the cost is:
($3 * 01 project) + ($0.1 * 25 secrets) = $5.5 (USD)
Scenario 2:
On the first billing cycle of a workspace, the Workspace Admin initially purchases 1 secrets and 30 secrets. Until the end of the first cycle, he actually stores 45 secrets. On the second cycle (30-day cycle), the cost is:
($3 * 01 project) + ($0.1 * 45 secrets) + ($0.1 * 15 unpaid secrets in 1st cycle) = $9 (USD)
