Log in with a security key
In Locker, a security key can be used to replace a Password. Using a security key to sign in eliminates the need for users to remember Passwords and provides users with stronger security.
Add a security key
First, you will need to add a security key to log in to Locker with this method. You are able to add up to 4 keys for an account.
💡
Desktop app installation is required. Download and install the self-hosted version of Locker desktop app.
- Log in to the Locker desktop app.
- In the left navigation bar, click Settings > Security > Unlock methods > expand this section.
- On the Security keys section, click the Add new key button.
- Connect the security key you want to add to the computer using the USB or BLE port, then select the key and click the Continue button. (If you don't see the key appear on the screen, click the Reload list button again).
- Scan your fingerprint, or enter the key’s PIN to authenticate. Note: You need to verify the key twice.
- After successfully authenticating your key, you will see the new key appear on the security key list. Now you can use your security key to log in to Locker.
