Turn on cross-platform login sync

When login sync is enabled, if you log in on the desktop application, your account will be logged in to the web application on the same computer and vice versa. You also don't need to enter your Master Password, or authenticate your hardware key when you access your account again on that computer.

💡
Note: Desktop app installation is required to turn on cross-platform sync.

Turn on cross-platform sync

  1. Log in to the Locker desktop application.
  1. In the left navigation bar, click Settings, then select Security.
  1. In the Cross-Platform Sync section, click the Turn on Sync button.
  1. You will be asked to authenticate again with your Master Password or security key (if Passwordless Login is enabled).
      • Authenticate with Master Password: Enter the password and click the Continue button.
      • Security key authentication: Connect your hardware key to your computer via USB or via BLE. Next scan your fingerprint, or enter the device's PIN code to authenticate.
  1. You will see a notification that login synchronization has been successfully enabled.

Log in after enabling cross-platform sync

On the desktop app

Open the desktop app, and click the Unlock button. You will be directed to your account without having to enter the Master Password or authenticate with the security key.

On the web app

  1. Access the Locker app on the browser.
  1. At the login screen, you are asked to confirm login with the computer app using a pairing OTP code. Click the Open desktop app button.
  1. An OTP code will be displayed on both the desktop app and web app, asking you to confirm to continue.
  1. Click the Confirm button on the desktop app, then click the Confirm button on the web app.
  1. After successfully confirming the code, you will be redirected to your account.

Note: Note: If you log out of the desktop app, your account on the web app is also logged out (and vice versa).

Turn off cross-platform login sync

Disabling login sync allows you to log in to platforms on the same computer independently, requiring you to enter your Master Password, or security key authentication each time you log in.

  1. Log in to the Locker desktop application.
  1. In the left navigation bar, click Settings, then select Security.
  1. In the Cross-Platform Sync section, click the Turn off Sync button.
  1. You will be asked to authenticate again with your Master Password or security key (if Passwordless Login is enabled).
      • Authenticate with Master Password: Enter the password and click the Continue button.
      • Security key authentication: Connect your hardware key to your computer via USB or via BLE. Next scan your fingerprint, or enter the device's PIN code to authenticate.
  1. You will see a notification that login sync has been successfully turned off.
