The Master Password is the only password you need to remember to access your Locker vault. It is the key that encrypts and decrypts all data stored in Locker.

Key characteristics

  • Only you know it: Locker uses a Zero-Knowledge model, so your Master Password is never sent to or stored on the server.
  • Cannot be recovered: If you forget your Master Password, Locker cannot help you retrieve it. Make sure to keep your password hint in a safe place.
  • Security requirements: Your Master Password should be at least 12 characters long and include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

Tips for protecting your Master Password

  1. Do not reuse it: Never use your Master Password for any other account.
  2. Create a memorable passphrase: Use a sentence that is personally meaningful to you to create a strong yet memorable password.
  3. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA): Add an extra layer of protection to your Locker account.
